The next time I’m able to offer a Belgian laces course for the group one of the options will be to work this butterfly from Brugge lace flowers and leaves. I took the pins out this morning. The pattern is by Lieve Pollet and is the first pattern released as part 2 of A P-Lace Together, a new pattern is released ever week. In part 1 most of the patterns were Torchon. ... See MoreSee Less

In April and June I should have been running a split Saturday course on Torchon mats for the group, obviously this couldn't take place. I gave those registered the opportunity to try the the pattern they had chosen from written instructions and videos of the finishing which was a new method. Most people decided to give it a try! So far Ann, Mary, Helen and Heather have sent me photos of their finished work. As typical lacemakers they have all told me things they aren't happy with but I think they've done really well, not only have they been learning new things but they've had to learn in a new way for them through video. Hopefully more photos to follow and you will be able to see them in person when we are able to meet again.I've learnt too ... I'd only done one lace video before and like those who have finished their mats I knew it could be better ... the final photo is my iPad over my pillow on a flexible arm - just where I wanted it to give a good view of the work - much better. I'm going to go back and redo the first video again at some point ... See MoreSee Less

Please note that the committee have come to the decision that 2020 is a write off. From the comments from HCA we can't see the community centre being in a position to comply with the regulations for our number of members before 2021.We have abandoned all hope of any meetings taking place before 2021. The tutors and suppliers have been contacted and have been asked if they could re-arrange dates for 2021. They all seem to be quite relieved as giving a talk in a face mask is not the best thing to look forward to.So, please be advised that there will be no meetings, or courses for NCLG this year and Pillowtalk will only resume in March 2021.We are hoping to resume meetings in 2021, with luck it may be January, and hold the AGM in May.Helen will update everyone in a round robin message for those with email and paper notification for those who don't.New dates and details of courses, speakers and suppliers will be posted as soon as things are sorted. ...
